S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 7498 2015-2016 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y May 13, 2015 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. PRETLOW -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Racing and Wagering AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to authorizing additional forms of games of chance currency for certain games of chance licensees THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 20 of section 186 of the general municipal law, as added by chapter 574 of the laws of 1978, is amended to read as follows: 20. "Games of chance currency" shall mean legal tender or a form of scrip or chip authorized by the board, any of which may be used at the discretion of the games of chance licensee; PROVIDED, HOWEVER, "GAMES OF CHANCE CURRENCY" MAY ALSO INCLUDE PERSONAL CHECKS THAT ARE SENT FROM WITHIN NEW YORK STATE AND RECEIVED BY AN ORGANIZATION WITHIN NEW YORK STATE WHEN THE GAMES OF CHANCE LICENSEE IS A BENEVOLENT ORDER PURSUANT TO SECTION TWO OF THE BENEVOLENT ORDERS LAW, AND ANY BONA FIDE RELIGIOUS OR CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION OR BONA FIDE EDUCATIONAL, FRATERNAL OR SERVICE ORGANIZATION OR BONA FIDE ORGANIZATION OF VETERANS OR VOLUNTEER FIREMEN, PURSUANT TO SUBDIVISION FOUR OF THIS SECTION.
