NOLAN, CRESPO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Education AN ACT to direct the commissioner of the state education department to distribute certain federal funds THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, rule or regu- lation to the contrary, the commissioner of the state education depart- ment is directed to distribute any federal funds received for the purposes of educating either unaccompanied minors or english language learners that were received in the 2014-15 school year on a proportional basis to school districts based on the number of such new students each district admitted during the 2014-15 school year. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD11682-01-5
