MILLER -- read once and referred to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to requiring hospi- tals to provide forms in Punjabi THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The public health law is amended by adding a new section 2805-x to read as follows: S 2805-X. FORMS PRINTED IN PUNJABI. EVERY HOSPITAL SHALL, AT A PATIENT'S REQUEST, PROVIDE ANY MEDICAL FORM OR PRINTED INFORMATION WHICH IS GIVEN TO A PATIENT OR REQUIRED TO BE SIGNED BY SUCH PATIENT TRANS- LATED INTO PUNJABI. S 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD02879-01-5
