  printed to be committed to the Committee on Civil Service and Pensions

AN ACT to authorize Nicholas  Cofield  to  take  the  competitive  civil
  service examination and be placed on the eligible list for appointment
  as  a  full-time  police  officer  for  the town of Niagara, county of
  Niagara

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil
service law, or any other law to the contrary, Nicholas Cofield shall be
eligible to take the competitive civil service examination for the posi-
tion of police officer and shall, contingent  upon  his  score  on  such
examination,  be eligible to be placed on the eligible list for appoint-
ment as a full-time police officer for the town of Niagara.
  S 2. Nicholas Cofield shall otherwise be  subject  to  the  merit  and
fitness  provisions  of  the  civil  service law applicable to full-time
police officers.
  S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.

AN  ACT  to  authorize  Nicholas  Cofield  to take the competitive civil
  service examination and be placed on the eligible list for appointment
  as a full-time police officer for  the  town  of  Niagara,  county  of
  Niagara

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of  the  civil
service law, or any other law to the contrary, Nicholas Cofield, who has
been  continuously  employed  by  the  town of Niagara, in the county of
Niagara, as a part-time police officer, shall be eligible  to  take  the
competitive civil service examination for the position of police officer
and shall, contingent upon his score on such examination, be eligible to
be  placed  on  the  eligible list for appointment as a full-time police
officer for the town of Niagara.
  S 2. Nicholas Cofield shall otherwise be  subject  to  the  merit  and
fitness  provisions  of  the  civil  service law applicable to full-time
police officers.
  S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
