MONTESANO, HAWLEY, FINCH -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to requiring the secre- tary of state to notify local governments of new laws THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The executive law is amended by adding a new section 93-a to read as follows: S 93-A. PUBLISHING LAWS TO LOCAL GOVERNMENTS. THE SECRETARY OF STATE SHALL SEND VIA ELECTRONIC MAIL A COPY OF ALL LAWS ENACTED ON AND AFTER JANUARY FIRST, TWO THOUSAND SIXTEEN, INCLUDING A BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE LAW AND ITS IMPLEMENTATION REQUIREMENTS, TO A REPRESENTATIVE TO EACH LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN THE STATE. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD05091-01-5
