TITONE, HOOPER, WRIGHT -- Multi-Sponsored by -- M. of A. GOTTFRIED, PERRY, SIMANOWITZ -- read once and referred to the Committee on Aging AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to providing for retroactivity to an original date of eligi- bility for the senior citizens rent increase exemption (SCRIE) THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. This act shall be known and may be cited as the "senior citizens rent increase exemption (SCRIE) rollback act". S 2. Section 26-605 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new subdivision (c-1) to read as follows: (C-1) FOR ANY ELIGIBLE HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD WHO FAILED TO MAKE TIMELY APPLICATION FOR A RENT INCREASE EXEMPTION ORDER PURSUANT TO SUBDIVISIONS (A) AND (B) OF THIS SECTION, SUCH APPLICATION SHALL BE DEEMED TO HAVE OCCURRED ON THE ORIGINAL DATE OF ELIGIBILITY FOR A RENT INCREASE EXEMPTION ORDER AND RENT REDUCTION IS RETROACTIVE TO THE ORIGINAL DATE OF ELIGIBILITY.
