AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to notification
  requirements for  traffic-control  signal  photo  violation-monitoring
  devices and photo speed violation monitoring systems

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. The vehicle and traffic law is  amended  by  adding  a  new
section 1111-e to read as follows:
  S  1111-E.  TRAFFIC-CONTROL SIGNAL PHOTO VIOLATION-MONITORING DEVICES;
NOTICE. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW, RULE  OR  REGULATION
TO  THE  CONTRARY,  A  CITY  OR COUNTY AUTHORIZED TO INSTALL AND OPERATE
TRAFFIC-CONTROL SIGNAL PHOTO VIOLATION-MONITORING  DEVICES  PURSUANT  TO
THE  PROVISIONS  OF  THIS ARTICLE SHALL INSTALL STREET SIGNS LOCATED ONE
HUNDRED FEET, OR AS CLOSE AS PRACTICABLE, FROM A TRAFFIC-CONTROL  SIGNAL
UTILIZING   A   PHOTO   VIOLATION-MONITORING   DEVICE   STATING  THAT  A
TRAFFIC-CONTROL SIGNAL PHOTO VIOLATION-MONITORING DEVICE IS IN USE.
  S 2. The vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding  a  new  section
1180-d to read as follows:
  S  1180-D. PHOTO SPEED VIOLATION MONITORING SYSTEMS; NOTICE.  NOTWITH-
STANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW, RULE OR REGULATION TO THE CONTRARY,
A CITY OR COUNTY AUTHORIZED TO INSTALL AND OPERATE PHOTO SPEED VIOLATION
MONITORING SYSTEMS PURSUANT TO  SECTIONS  ELEVEN  HUNDRED  EIGHTY-B  AND
ELEVEN  HUNDRED  EIGHTY-C  OF  THIS  ARTICLE  SHALL INSTALL STREET SIGNS
LOCATED ONE HUNDRED FEET, OR AS CLOSE AS  PRACTICABLE,  FROM  THE  PHOTO
SPEED  VIOLATION  MONITORING SYSTEM STATING THAT A PHOTO SPEED VIOLATION
MONITORING SYSTEM IS IN USE.
  S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
