LENTOL, MILLER, GOLDFEDER, WEPRIN, AUBRY, ROZIC, GRAF -- Multi-Sponsored by -- M. of A. FARRELL -- read once and referred to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to providing jurisdiction to Queens county for cases arising from Rikers Island facilities THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 20.40 of the criminal procedure law is amended by adding a new paragraph (n) to read as follows: (N) AN OFFENSE COMMITTED AT RIKERS ISLAND FACILITIES SHALL BE PROSE- CUTED BY QUEENS COUNTY. S 2. This act shall take effect January 1, 2017, and shall apply to prosecutions commenced on or after such effective date.
