CRESPO -- Multi-Sponsored by -- M. of A. RAMOS -- read once and referred to the Committee on Children and Families AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to the health bene- fit exchange for current and former foster care children THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 398-c of the social services law is amended by adding a new subdivision 6 to read as follows: 6. (A) THE COMMISSIONER SHALL PROMULGATE REGULATIONS TO ENSURE ALL CHILDREN CURRENTLY IN THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM ARE ENROLLED IN THE STATE HEALTH BENEFIT EXCHANGE. (B) THE COMMISSIONER SHALL PROMULGATE REGULATIONS TO ENSURE THE ENROLLMENT OF INDIVIDUALS FORMERLY IN FOSTER CARE WHO HAVE NOT HAD A PERMANENT HOME NOR FAMILY TO RETURN TO IN A HEALTH PLAN THROUGH THE STATE HEALTH BENEFIT EXCHANGE.
