S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 9588 I N A S S E M B L Y March 21, 2016 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. McDONALD, MAGNARELLI -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to the placing of a lien for unpaid property taxes against the proceeds of a fire insur- ance policy on any real property located within a municipality THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph (e) of subdivision 1 of section 22 of the general municipal law, as added by chapter 569 of the laws of 1978, is amended to read as follows: (e) "Real property" means property upon which there is erected any residential, commercial or industrial building or structure [except a one or two family residential structure]. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD14265-01-6
