BILL NUMBER:S1465 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the social services law, in relation to directing the council on children and families to establish an online listing and map of publicly funded or registered afterschool and school age childcare programs and to expand the duties of the commissioner of social services; and to amend the education law, in relation to expanding the duties of the commissioner of education PURPOSE: This bill ensures the Council on Children and Families develops and makes available through its website a listing and map of all recipients of grants awarded or administered by the state for the purpose of providing afterschool or summer programs, extended learning time, or community schools, and all registered school age providers registered by the office of children and family services. The listing shall include for each grant recipient or provider the recipient or provider's name, the address at which the program is offered, and the name and phone number of an individual who is authorized to answer questions regarding the program. The social services law is amended by adding a new section 483-g to read as follows: S 483-G. LIST OF CHILD CARE PROVIDERS. 1. THE COUNCIL, IN ACCORDANCE WITH INFORMATION MADE AVAILABLE TO IT BY THE OFFICE OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES PURSUANT TO SECTION SEVENTEEN OF THIS CHAPTER AND PROVIDED TO IT BY THE STATE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION THREE HUNDRED FIVE OF THE EDUCATION LAW, SHALL DEVELOP AND MAKE AVAIL- ABLE THROUGH A LINK ON ITS WEBSITE: (A) A LISTING OF: (1) ALL RECIPIENTS OF COMPETITIVE GRANTS AWARDED OR ADMINISTERED BY THE STATE FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING: (I) AFTERSCHOOL OR SUMMER PROGRAMS AS DEFINED IN SECTION TWO OF THIS CHAPTER, OR EXTENDED LEARNING TIME, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO GRANTS FOR SUCH PURPOSES AWARDED UNDER SECTION THIRTY-SIX HUNDRED FORTY-ONE OF THE EDUCATION LAW; OR (II) COMMUNITY SCHOOLS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO GRANTS FOR SUCH PURPOSES AWARDED UNDER SECTION THIRTY-SIX HUNDRED FORTY-ONE OF THE EDUCATION LAW; AND (2) ALL REGISTERED SCHOOL AGE CHILD CARE PROVIDERS REGISTERED BY THE OFFICE OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES; AND (B) A MAP DISPLAYING THE LOCATIONS OF THE AWARD RECIPIENTS AND PROVID- ERS DESCRIBED IN SUBPARAGRAPH ONE OF PARAGRAPH (A) OF THIS SUBDIVISION.
