  printed to be committed to the Committee on Crime Victims,  Crime  and
  Correction

AN ACT to amend the correction law, in relation to permitting correction
  officers to be color blind

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. The correction law is amended by adding a new section  22-b
to read as follows:
  S 22-B. FURTHER QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT AS A CORRECTION OFFICER.
EVERY  APPLICANT FOR EMPLOYMENT AS A CORRECTION OFFICER WHO IS QUALIFIED
FOR SUCH EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE DEEMED QUALIFIED EVEN IF SUCH APPLICANT  IS
COLOR BLIND.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
