BILL NUMBER:S3376 TITLE OF BILL: An act to repeal section 37 of chapter 1 of the laws of 2013, amending the criminal procedure law and other laws relating to suspension and revocation of firearms licenses relating to the definition of an assault weapon PURPOSE: This bill would repeal the changes made to the definition of an assault weapon by chapter 1 of the laws of 2013. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 repeals section 37 of chapter 1 of the laws of 2013, which expanded the definition of an assault weapon, for laws relating to suspension and revocation of firearms licenses. Section 2 states that this act shall take effect immediately. EXISTING LAW: In 2013, the SAFE Act expanded the legal definition of an assault weapon. This bill repeals those changes. JUSTIFICATION:

Section 37 of chapter 1 of the laws of 2013 amending the criminal procedure law and other laws relating to suspension and revoca- tion of firearms licenses is REPEALED. S 2.
