  LIO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be  commit-
  ted to the Committee on Health

AN  ACT  to amend the public health law, in relation to including a lyme
  disease and tick-borne  infection  awareness  and  prevention  program
  within the health care and wellness education and outreach program

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 207 of the public  health  law  is
amended by adding a new paragraph (l) to read as follows:
  (L)  A  LYME DISEASE AND TICK-BORNE INFECTION AWARENESS AND PREVENTION
PROGRAM DESIGNED TO PROMOTE THE AWARENESS AND PREVENTION METHODS AGAINST
LYME DISEASE AND TICK-BORNE INFECTIONS. SUCH INFORMATION  SHALL  INCLUDE
BUT  NOT  BE  LIMITED TO GUIDELINES AND METHODS OF PREVENTION, INCLUDING
THE SAFE USE OF RECOMMENDED INSECT REPELLENTS, THE  BEST  PRACTICES  FOR
TICK REMOVAL, RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE REDUCTION OF EXPOSURE TO TICKS AND
APPROPRIATE COURSE OF ACTION ONCE A TICK IS REMOVED FROM THE BODY.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

  (M)  A  LYME DISEASE AND TICK-BORNE INFECTION AWARENESS AND PREVENTION

LYME DISEASE AND TICK-BORNE INFECTIONS. SUCH INFORMATION  SHALL  INCLUDE
