BILL NUMBER: S7809 TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend the social services law, in relation to allowances for the costs of diapers PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL : This bill creates an allowance for eligible parents to receive an allowance to assist in the purchasing of diapers for their children two years and under. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS : An act to amend the social services law, in relation to allowances for the costs of diapers. The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows: 05/03/16 2 15233-01-6 1 Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 350 of the social services law is 2 amended by adding a new paragraph (c) to read as follows: 3c In accordance with the regulations of the department approved by the director of the budget, allowances granted under the provisions of this title may include the costs of diapers for an eligible child, two years of age or younger. Said allowances shall not exceed eighty dollars per month, per eligible child.

PERSAUD -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Children and Families AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to allowances for the costs of diapers THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 350 of the social services law is amended by adding a new paragraph (c) to read as follows: (C) IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT APPROVED BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE BUDGET, ALLOWANCES GRANTED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THIS TITLE MAY INCLUDE THE COSTS OF DIAPERS FOR AN ELIGIBLE CHILD, TWO YEARS OF AGE OR YOUNGER. SAID ALLOWANCES SHALL NOT EXCEED EIGHTY DOLLARS PER MONTH, PER ELIGIBLE CHILD. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD15233-01-6
