MARCELLINO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to clarifying health education THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 804 of the education law, as amended by a chapter of the laws of 2016, amending the education law relating to clarifying health education, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 6046-A and A. 3887-B, is amended to read as follows: 1. All schools [under the jurisdiction of the department] shall ensure that their health education programs recognize the multiple dimensions of health by including mental health and the relation of physical and mental health so as to enhance student understanding, attitudes and behaviors that promote health, well-being and human dignity. S 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same manner as a chapter of the laws of 2016, amending the education law relating to clarifying health education, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 6046-A and A. 3887-B, takes effect.
