S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 10306 I N A S S E M B L Y April 10, 2018 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. HEVESI -- read once and referred to the Committee on Judiciary AN ACT to amend the family court act, in relation to authorizing family courts to order the local commissioner of social services to notify a respondent's employer upon the disposition of a child protective proceeding when such respondent has contact with children in the course of his or her employment THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph (vii) of subdivision (a) of section 1052 of the family court act, as amended by chapter 567 of the laws of 2015, is amended and a new paragraph (viii) is added to read as follows: (vii) granting custody of the child to a non-respondent parent or parents pursuant to article six of this act[.]; OR (VIII) ORDERING THE LOCAL COMMISSIONER OF SOCIAL SERVICES TO ADVISE THE RESPONDENT'S EMPLOYER OF THE ADJUDICATION IF THERE IS A FINDING THAT THE CHILD WAS ABUSED, AND IF THE RESPONDENT IS EMPLOYED WHERE HE OR SHE HAS CONTACT WITH CHILDREN. § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD01249-03-8
