S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 1061 2017-2018 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y January 10, 2017 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. CAHILL -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to requiring all insurance companies to provide the New York city department of transportation with information regarding motor vehicle accidents within such city THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new section 607 to read as follows: § 607. REPORTS REQUIRED BY INSURANCE COMPANIES. ANY INSURANCE COMPANY WHICH RECEIVES AN ACCIDENT REPORT PURSUANT TO THIS CHAPTER, IN A CITY HAVING A POPULATION OF ONE MILLION OR MORE, SHALL PROVIDE THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION OF SUCH CITY WITH STATISTICS AND OTHER RELEVANT INFOR- MATION RELATED TO MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS OCCURRING WITHIN SUCH CITY. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately; provided, however, that the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation neces- sary for the implementation of this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and completed on or before such effective date.
