PERRY -- read once and referred to the Committee on Education AN ACT to amend chapter 658 of the laws of 2002, amending the education law, relating to citizenship requirements for permanent certification as a teacher, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 658 of the laws of 2002, amending the education law relating to citizenship requirements for permanent certif- ication as a teacher, as amended by chapter 289 of the laws of 2012, is amended to read as follows: § 2. This act shall take effect immediately[, and shall expire and be deemed repealed November 30, 2017]. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD05764-01-7
