GLICK, MAGEE, MOSLEY, RIVERA, SIMANOWITZ, THIELE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to metropolitan commuter transportation district registration fee exemptions for farm vehicles THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 499-a of the vehicle and traffic law, as added by section 1 of part B of chapter 25 of the laws of 2009, is amended to read as follows: § 499-a. Metropolitan commuter transportation district supplemental registration fee. Registrants residing in the metropolitan commuter transportation district shall, upon the registration or renewal of a motor vehicle, be charged a supplemental registration fee to be paid to the commissioner or his or her agent in accordance with the provisions of this article. A REGISTRANT SHALL NOT BE CHARGED A FEE FOR THE REGIS- TRATION OR RENEWAL OF A FARM VEHICLE REGISTERED PURSUANT TO SUBDIVISION THIRTEEN OF SECTION FOUR HUNDRED ONE OF THIS TITLE. § 2. Section 499-b of the vehicle and traffic law, as added by section 1 of part B of chapter 25 of the laws of 2009, is amended to read as follows: § 499-b. Collection of supplemental fee. All registrants of motor vehicles who reside in the metropolitan commuter transportation district shall pay to the commissioner or his or her agent the supplemental registration fee provided for in this article upon registration or renewal of motor vehicles subject to registration fees pursuant to the following sections of this chapter: paragraph a of subdivision six of section four hundred one; schedules A, B, C, E, F, G, I and K of subdi- EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
