ROSENTHAL -- read once and referred to the Committee on Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to animal hatching projects THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 5 of section 809 of the education law is amended by adding a new paragraph c to read as follows: C. NO SCHOOL DISTRICT, SCHOOL PRINCIPAL, ADMINISTRATOR, OR TEACHER SHALL REQUIRE, PERMIT, OR CONDUCT A LESSON OR EXPERIMENTAL STUDY USING AN ANIMAL IN A HATCHING PROJECT IN ANY SUCH SCHOOL OR DURING ANY ACTIV- ITY CONDUCTED UNDER THE AUSPICES OF SUCH SCHOOL WHETHER OR NOT THE ACTIVITY TAKES PLACE ON THE PREMISES OF SUCH SCHOOL. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD10222-01-7
