 AN  ACT  to amend the social services law, in relation to the full take-
   over by the state of New York of county safety net costs

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 153 of the social services law is amended by adding
 a new subdivision 18 to read as follows:
   18. FROM AN AMOUNT SPECIFICALLY APPROPRIATED THEREFOR, THE COMMISSION-
 ER  OF  THE  OFFICE OF TEMPORARY AND DISABILITY ASSISTANCE SHALL PROVIDE
 ADDITIONAL ENHANCED REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF  SAFETY  NET
 ASSISTANCE  TO  EVERY SOCIAL SERVICES DISTRICT THROUGHOUT THE STATE. THE
 REIMBURSEMENT PROVIDED BY THE COMMISSIONER SHALL BE EQUAL TO  THE  COSTS
 OF  SAFETY  NET  ASSISTANCE  INCURRED  BY  EACH SOCIAL SERVICES DISTRICT
 THROUGHOUT NEW YORK STATE.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of April next  succeeding
 the date on which it shall have become a law.
