GUNTHER -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to prohibiting certain children from riding on a motorcycle THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 1251 of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new subdivision (e) to read as follows: (E) NO PERSON SHALL OPERATE OR RIDE A MOTORCYCLE ON A PUBLIC HIGHWAY, ROAD OR STREET IN THIS STATE WITH A CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF TWELVE ON SUCH MOTORCYCLE. § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed- ing the date on which it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD13403-01-7
