JONES -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to classifying emergency medical services provided by municipalities as essential services for the purposes of applying for and receiving state aid THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 122-b of the general municipal law is amended by adding a new subdivision 6 to read as follows: 6. EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES PROVIDED FOR PURSUANT TO SUBDIVISION ONE OF THIS SECTION SHALL BE DEEMED ESSENTIAL SERVICES FOR THE PURPOSES OF APPLYING FOR AND RECEIVING STATE AID. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD08302-01-7
