BILL NUMBER: S4045 TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend the public housing law, in relation to establishing a senior housing task force PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL : To establish a task force that would analyze senior housing options and develop strategies to improve housing options for seniors citizens as they age. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Section one of this bill would amend the Public Housing Law by adding a new section 12-A, which would establish a senior housing task force within the division of housing and community renewal (HCR). The taskforce would be comprised of 16 members, including representatives from the following state agencies: HCR, the state office for the aging (SOFA), the department of health, the office of mental health, the department of economic development, the office for people with development disabilities, the division of protective services for adults of the office of children and family services, and the New York City department for the aging. GOLDEN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Aging AN ACT to amend the public housing law, in relation to establishing a senior housing task force THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The public housing law is amended by adding a new section 12-a to read as follows: § 12-A. SENIOR HOUSING TASK FORCE. 1. THERE IS HEREBY ESTABLISHED WITHIN THE DIVISION OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY RENEWAL A SENIOR HOUSING TASK FORCE. IT SHALL MEET AS OFTEN AS NECESSARY, BUT NO LESS THAN FOUR TIMES PER YEAR. ALL MEMBERS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH NOTICE REASONABLY IN ADVANCE OF EACH MEETING WITH DATE, TIME AND LOCATION OF SUCH MEETING. TASK FORCE MEMBERS MAY USE VIDEOCONFERENCING FOR ATTENDANCE AND PARTIC- IPATION. THE TASK FORCE SHALL CONSIST OF SIXTEEN MEMBERS AND SHALL INCLUDE REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE FOLLOWING STATE AGENCIES: THE DIVISION OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY RENEWAL, THE OFFICE FOR THE AGING, THE DEPART- MENT OF HEALTH, THE OFFICE OF MENTAL HEALTH, THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, THE OFFICE FOR PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES, THE DIVISION OF PROTECTIVE SERVICES FOR ADULTS OF THE OFFICE OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES, AND THE NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT FOR THE AGING.
