   printed to be committed to the Committee on Health
 
 AN ACT to amend the public health law, in  relation  to  increasing  the
   period  of  validity to 5 years for the commissioner of health's iden-
   tification of comprehensive care centers for eating disorders

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Subdivision 2 of section 2799-h of the public health law,
 as amended by  section 13 of part A of chapter 109 of the laws of  2010,
 is amended to read as follows:
   2.  The  commissioner's  identification of a comprehensive care center
 for eating disorders under this article shall be valid for not more than
 a two year period from the date of issuance. The commissioner may  reis-
 sue  such  identifications  for  subsequent  periods of up to [two] FIVE
 years, provided that the comprehensive  care  center  has  notified  the
 commissioner  of any material changes in structure or operation based on
 its original application, or  since  its  last  written  notice  by  the
 commissioner,  and  that  the  commissioner is satisfied that the center
 continues to meet the criteria required pursuant to this article.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
