D. Rosen- thal) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Judiciary AN ACT to amend the family court act, in relation to the hours of opera- tion for family courts THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision (a) of section 161 of the family court act is amended to read as follows: (a) The days and hours the court is open shall be as provided by rule of court; PROVIDED, HOWEVER, A COURT IN A CITY WITH A POPULATION OF ONE MILLION OR MORE SHALL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL MIDNIGHT ON WEEKDAYS. § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD15766-01-0
