S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 1099 2019-2020 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y January 14, 2019 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. L. ROSENTHAL -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to notifying persons who renew their license of new traffic related laws THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 6 of section 502 of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new paragraph (c) to read as follows: (C) NEW TRAFFIC RELATED LAWS. THE DEPARTMENT SHALL NOTIFY ALL PERSONS WHO APPLY TO RENEW THEIR LICENSE OF NEW TRAFFIC RELATED LAWS THAT WENT INTO EFFECT WITHIN TWELVE MONTHS OF THE RENEWED LICENSE. THE NOTIFICA- TION WILL BE WRITTEN IN A CONSPICUOUS MANNER, IN BLACK OR BLUE INK AND TWELVE POINT FONT. THE DEPARTMENT SHALL NOTIFY THE PERSON OF THE NEW TRAFFIC LAWS BY THE USE OF ELECTRONIC MAIL OR PAPER FORM AND THE NOTIFI- CATION MAY ACCOMPANY THE OTHER RENEWAL DOCUMENTS. § 2.
