COOK, DenDEKKER -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations AN ACT in relation to establishing a task force to study and report on the potential implementation of blockchain technology in state record keeping, information storage, and service delivery; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. A ten-member task force is hereby established to assess the feasibility, economic impacts and effectiveness of the implementation of blockchain technology in state record keeping, information storage, and service delivery. § 2. The task force shall be comprised of: (a) two members appointed by the temporary president of the senate; (b) two members appointed by the speaker of the assembly; (c) two members appointed by the governor; (d) two members appointed by the chief information officer of the office of information technology services; (e) one member appointed by the minority leader of the senate; and (f) one member appointed by the minority leader of the assembly. § 3. The task force shall meet as frequently as its business may require and members of the task force shall receive no compensation for their services. The task force shall hold at least one public hearing in the course of conducting its examination and evaluation pursuant to this act. § 4. The task force shall provide a report to the governor, the speak- er of the assembly and the temporary president of the senate on or before January 1, 2021.
