PRETLOW -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Judiciary AN ACT to amend the county law, in relation to the publication of judi- cial proceedings THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The county law is amended by adding a new section 535 to read as follows: § 535. DESIGNATION OF NEWSPAPERS BY COUNTY CLERK. WHERE A COUNTY CLERK IS REQUIRED BY LAW TO DESIGNATE ONE OR MORE NEWSPAPERS FOR THE PUBLICA- TION OF LEGAL NOTICES, SUCH NEWSPAPER OR, IF THERE BE MORE THAN ONE, ONE SUCH NEWSPAPER SHALL BE THE NEWSPAPER OR JOURNAL, IF ANY, DESIGNATED BY LAW FOR THE PUBLICATION OF EVERY NOTICE AND ADVERTISEMENT OF JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS IN THE COUNTY. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD04653-01-9
