BARCLAY, BLANKENBUSH, McDONOUGH, MORINELLO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Racing and Wagering AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to allowing char- itable organizations to accept credit cards as payment for games of chance THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 189 of the general municipal law is amended by adding a new subdivision 12-a to read as follows: 12-A. NOTWITHSTANDING SUBDIVISION TWELVE OF THIS SECTION, AN AUTHOR- IZED ORGANIZATION MAY ACCEPT A CREDIT CARD AS A FORM OF PAYMENT FOR PARTICIPATION IN A GAME OF CHANCE. § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
