S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 6994 2019-2020 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y April 3, 2019 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. REILLY -- read once and referred to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT directing the port authority of New York to study the alignment of the Outerbridge Crossing, in order to widen the bridge and increase the flow of traffic THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. 1. The port authority of New York shall conduct a study to explore the alignment of the Outerbridge Crossing in order to examine the feasibility of physically widening such bridge, which would result in an increase in the flow of traffic. 2. Such study shall examine the alignment of the Outerbridge Crossing, with attention to the surrounding private property in the area in which the bridge is located and to determine which of those properties would need to be acquired by the port authority of New York in order to effi- ciently expand the bridge to accomplish the goal of increasing the flow of traffic. 3. Prior to the expiration of its existing study into the Outerbridge Crossing, the port authority of New York shall issue a report of its findings on the alignment of the Outerbridge Crossing to the governor, the temporary president of the senate and the speaker of the assembly of the state of New York, as well as to the governor of the state of New Jersey. Such report shall include, but not be limited to, the following: (a) actions that can be implemented by the port authority immediately, a plan of action for such implementation, and the estimated cost of the implementation plan; and (b) which, if any, surrounding property would need to be acquired and the estimated cost of acquiring such property. § 2.
