ABBATE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Employees AN ACT to amend the civil service law, in relation to granting salary protection for provisional and temporary employees THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subdivision 2 of section 121 of the civil service law, as added by chapter 790 of the laws of 1958, is amended to read as follows: (a) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (b) of this subdivi- sion, the annual salary of any position, compensable on an annual basis, which is classified or reclassified, or which is allocated or reallo- cated to a salary grade pursuant to the provisions of this article shall not be reduced for the then [permanent] incumbent by reason of any provision of this article [so long as such position is held by the then permanent incumbent]. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD11685-01-9
