CRUZ -- read once and referred to the Committee on Housing AN ACT to amend the real property law, in relation to eliminating unrea- sonable fees levied on tenants for reproductions of keys THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The real property law is amended by adding a new section 235-h to read as follows: § 235-H. UNREASONABLE TENANT FEES FOR REPRODUCTIONS OF KEYS. A LAND- LORD SHALL NOT CHARGE TENANTS FEES GREATER THAN ONE HUNDRED TEN PERCENT OF ACTUAL EXPENSES INCURRED IN THE REPRODUCTION OF KEYS TO A SINGLE DWELLING. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD11488-01-9
