Requires that the most recent rating of every nursing home assigned pursuant to the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS rating), shall be prominently displayed on the home page of the department's website and at each nursing home facility.

 AN  ACT  to  amend  the public health law, in relation to publication of
   nursing home ratings
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section  1.  The  public health law is amended by adding a new section
 2808-e to read as follows:
   § 2808-E. NURSING HOME RATINGS. 1. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL PROVIDE THAT
 THE MOST RECENT STAR RATING OF EVERY  NURSING  HOME    FACILITY  IN  THE
 STATE,  ASSIGNED  PURSUANT  TO  THE INSPECTION RATING SYSTEM OF THE U.S.
 CENTERS FOR MEDICARE AND MEDICAID SERVICES (CMS RATING), SHALL BE PROMI-
 NENTLY DISPLAYED ON THE HOME PAGE OF THE DEPARTMENT'S WEBSITE, OR  BY  A
 LINK  FROM  THE  HOME  PAGE  DIRECTLY  TO SUCH INFORMATION. THE FACILITY
 RATINGS SHALL BE DISPLAYED SO AS TO   ALLOW CONSUMERS,  THEIR  FAMILIES,
 AND  CAREGIVERS  TO  EASILY COMPARE FACILITIES BASED UPON THEIR ASSIGNED
 RATINGS.
   2. EACH NURSING HOME FACILITY SHALL POST ITS CMS RATING ON  THE  HOME-
 PAGE  OF  ANY  WEBSITE MAINTAINED BY SUCH FACILITY AND ON ANY WEBSITE OR
 WEBPAGE RELATING TO SUCH FACILITY MAINTAINED BY AN ENTITY WHICH OWNS  OR
 OPERATES  SUCH FACILITY. EACH NURSING HOME SHALL ALSO CONSPICUOUSLY POST
 ITS MOST RECENT CMS RATING SO THAT IT IS VISIBLE TO THE  GENERAL  PUBLIC
 AND  TO RESIDENTS.   THE POSTING SHALL NOT BE DEFACED, MARRED, OR HIDDEN
 FROM PUBLIC VIEW.
   3. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL DEVELOP AND  IMPLEMENT  A  PUBLIC  AWARENESS
 CAMPAIGN  REGARDING  THE  CMS  RATING SYSTEM. THE CAMPAIGN SHALL INCLUDE
 INFORMATION ON HOW SUCH RATING IS ESTABLISHED AND HOW TO ACCESS A  NURS-
 ING HOME FACILITY'S RATING. SUCH PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN SHALL BE MADE
 AVAILABLE  TO  THE PUBLIC BY ANY MEANS DEEMED APPROPRIATE BY THE COMMIS-
 SIONER.

 AN  ACT  to  amend  the public health law, in relation to publication of
   nursing home ratings
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  The  public health law is amended by adding a new section

   § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
