BILL NUMBER: S1717 SPONSOR: JACOBS TITLE OF BILL: An act in relation to discontinuing the collection of tolls at the Grand Island bridges in the Niagara section of the New York state thruway PURPOSE: To direct the Thruway Authority to eliminate the toll at the Grand Island Bridges. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 - The bill directs the New York State Thruway Authority to discontinue tolls at the Grand Island Bridges in the Niagara section of the Governor Thomas E. JACOBS, ORTT -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT in relation to discontinuing the collection of tolls at the Grand Island bridges in the Niagara section of the New York state thruway THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any contrary provision of law, the New York State thruway authority shall discontinue the collection of tolls at the Grand Island bridges in the Niagara section of the Governor Thomas E. Dewey Thruway, as such section is described in subdivision 8 of section 356 of the public authorities law. § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall have become a law.
