BILL NUMBER: S2349 SPONSOR: RANZENHOFER TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the education law, in relation to aid to school districts educating Native American pupils PURPOSE: To ensure prompt payment of aid to school districts providing education to Native American students SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 - amends paragraph b of subdivision 2 of section 4115 of the Education Law to provide that for all years commencing July l', 2020 all amounts required to be paid pursuant to subdivision 4115 shall be made within 180 days of the date the number of Native American pupils educated by the district is determined. Section 2 - provides the effective date.

RANZENHOFER, GALLIVAN, JACOBS, KENNEDY, LITTLE, ORTT, SEPULVEDA, YOUNG -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to aid to school districts educating Native American pupils THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph b of subdivision 2 of section 4115 of the educa- tion law is amended by adding a new subparagraph 3 to read as follows: (3) FOR ANY SCHOOL YEAR BEGINNING ON OR AFTER JULY FIRST, TWO THOUSAND TWENTY, SUCH AMOUNTS SHALL BE PAID TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT WITHIN ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY DAYS OF THE DATE THAT THE NUMBER OF INDIAN PUPILS EDUCATED BY THE DISTRICT IS DETERMINED BY THE DEPARTMENT. § 2.
