BILL NUMBER: S3425 SPONSOR: MARTINEZ TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to the application for registration of manufacturers, dealers, repairmen and others PURPOSE: This bill requires motor vehicle dealerships to obtain the same certif- ication from the municipality that motor vehicle repair shops are required to obtain, in order to ensure compliance with applicable regu- lations and codes. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section one amends subdivision of section 415 of the vehicle and traffic law by adding a new paragraph b-3 to read as follows: b-3. A certif- ication from the municipality where the business is to be conducted, indicating that the business is in compliance with applicable zoning and planning regulations, fire regulations and zoning codes.

MARTINEZ -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to the applica- tion for registration of manufacturers, dealers, repairmen and others THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 5 of section 415 of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new paragraph b-4 to read as follows: B-4. A CERTIFICATION FROM THE MUNICIPALITY WHERE THE BUSINESS IS TO BE CONDUCTED, INDICATING THAT THE BUSINESS IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH APPLICABLE ZONING AND PLANNING REGULATIONS, FIRE REGULATIONS AND ZONING CODES. § 2.
