BILL NUMBER: S5353 SPONSOR: COMRIE TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the public authorities law, in relation to prohibiting the metropolitan transportation authority from listing a gender on commuter tickets PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to prohibiting the metropolitan transportation authority from listing a gender on commuter tickets SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1. The public authorities' law is amended by adding a new 2 section 1266-k to read as follows: 3 § 1266-k. Prohibition of gender information on commuter passes, tick- ets or fare cards. COMRIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to prohibiting the metropolitan transportation authority from listing a gender on commuter tickets THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The public authorities law is amended by adding a new section 1266-l to read as follows: § 1266-L. PROHIBITION OF GENDER INFORMATION ON COMMUTER PASSES, TICK- ETS OR FARE CARDS. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY CONTRARY PROVISION OF LAW, THE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY IS PROHIBITED FROM LISTING A GENDER ON ANY COMMUTER PASS, TICKET OR FARE CARD AS A MEANS OF IDENTIFY- ING THE OWNER OF SUCH PASS, TICKET OR FARE CARD. § 2.
