BILL NUMBER: S705 SPONSOR: GALLIVAN TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the penal law, in relation to certain large capacity ammunition feeding devices PURPOSE: This bill would allow individuals to legally possess a large capacity ammunition feeding device manufactured before September 13, 1994. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 amends section 265.20 to create an exemption from section 265.37 of the penal law, prohibiting the possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device, for those devices manufactured before Septem- ber 13, 1994. GALLIVAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation to certain large capacity ammunition feeding devices THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision a of section 265.20 of the penal law is amended by adding a new paragraph 11-a to read as follows: 11-A. POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE MANU- FACTURED BEFORE SEPTEMBER THIRTEENTH, NINETEEN NINETY-FOUR. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed to have been in full force and effect on and after January 15, 2014.
