BILL NUMBER: S8994 SPONSOR: BORRELLO TITLE OF BILL: An act in relation to granting on-premise alcohol retailers an extension of one year to renew their expired liquor license without any late fees during the COVID-19 state disaster emergency PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: The purpose of this legislation is to provide relief to on-premise liquor license holders who experienced a renewal during 2020 and allow- ing them a one-year extension. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1: Outlines if an on-premise alcohol retailer experienced a renewal date for their New York state liquor license between the date a state disaster emergency was declared by the Governor and December 31, 2020, that retailer shall receive a one year extension from the time the

BORRELLO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT in relation to granting on-premise alcohol retailers an extension of one year to renew their expired liquor license without any late fees during the COVID-19 state disaster emergency THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, if an on-premise alcohol retailer has experienced a renewal date for their New York state liquor license between the date a state disaster emergency was declared by the governor pursuant to executive order 202 and December 31, 2020, such retailer shall receive an extension of one year from the time such liquor license has expired to renew such license, and no late fees shall be charged for such extension. § 2.
