 Introduced  by Sen. GALLIVAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
 
 AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to the  establishment  of
   an extraordinary needs reserve fund
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Section 3651 of the education law is amended  by  adding  a
 new subdivision 1-c to read as follows:
   1-C.  NOTWITHSTANDING  THE  PROVISIONS  OF  SUBDIVISION  ONE  OF  THIS
 SECTION, ANY SCHOOL DISTRICT  MAY  ESTABLISH  A  RESERVE  FUND  FOR  THE
 PAYMENT OF UNANTICIPATED COSTS RELATED TO THE INSTRUCTION OF STUDENTS AS
 DEFINED IN SUBPARAGRAPH ONE OF PARAGRAPH I OF SUBDIVISION ONE OF SECTION
 THIRTY-SIX  HUNDRED TWO AND PURSUANT TO SUBDIVISION TWO OF SECTION THIR-
 TY-TWO HUNDRED FOUR OF THIS CHAPTER INCURRED THROUGHOUT THE FISCAL YEAR.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of July  next  succeeding
 the date on which it shall have become a law.
