BILL NUMBER: S2156 SPONSOR: KAMINSKY TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to prohibiting the use of chlorpyrifos PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: The purpose of this bill is to prohibit the use of a specific pesticide with significant known adverse human health impacts, especially for children. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This bill would amend § 33-1301 of the Environmental Conservation Law to prohibit the use of the pesticide chlorpyrifos. Section 33-1301 of the environmental conservation law is amended by adding a new subdivision 12 to read as follows: 12. FOR ANY PERSON TO USE CHLORPYRIFOS. § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
