CARROLL -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Children and Families AN ACT to amend the social services law and the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to allowing for case workers to apply for education and training vouchers for children in foster care THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 397 of the social services law is amended by adding a new subdivision 5 to read as follows: 5. AS TO CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE, APPLY FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING VOUCHERS PURSUANT TO PARAGRAPH I OF SECTION 677 OF THE UNITED STATES CODE FOR THE CHILD. § 2. Section 21-902.1 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new subdivision f to read as follows: F. CASE PLANNERS AND CASE WORKERS MAY APPLY FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING VOUCHERS FOR A CHILD WHO IS IN FOSTER CARE. § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
