 AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation  to  requiring  the  city
   board  of the city of New York to conduct votes regarding school plans
   in the county in which the school is located

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1. Section 2590-g of the education law is amended by adding a
 new subdivision 8-a to read as follows:
   8-A. ANY VOTE BY THE CITY BOARD  REGARDING  A  SCHOOL  PLAN  SHALL  BE
 CONDUCTED  IN  THE  COUNTY  IN  WHICH THE SCHOOL THE VOTE PERTAINS TO IS
 LOCATED.  AS USED IN THIS SUBDIVISION, "SCHOOL PLAN" MEANS A PLAN  WHICH
 IMPACTS  ENROLLMENT  OR  THE  USE  OF  SPACE, INCLUDING IMPACTS DUE TO A
 PROPOSED CO-LOCATION OF A CHARTER SCHOOL.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately; provided,  however,  that
 the  amendments  to  section 2590-g of the education law made by section
 one of this act shall not affect the  expiration  of  such  section  and
 shall be deemed to expire therewith.
