GUNTHER, DINOWITZ -- read once and referred to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to immunization requirements for certain camp employees THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 1394 of the public health law is amended by adding a new subdivision 6 to read as follows: 6. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL PROMULGATE RULES AND REGULATIONS REQUIRING EACH CHILDREN'S OVERNIGHT CAMP, SUMMER DAY CAMP AND TRAVELING SUMMER DAY CAMP TO ENSURE THAT EMPLOYEES WORKING AT SUCH CAMPS BE IMMUNIZED AGAINST MUMPS, MEASLES, RUBELLA, DIPHTHERIA, VARICELLA, PERTUSSIS AND TETANUS. THIS SUBDIVISION SHALL NOT APPLY TO EMPLOYEES WHO HOLD GENUINE AND SINCERE RELIGIOUS BELIEFS WHICH ARE CONTRARY TO THE PRACTICES REQUIRED BY THIS SUBDIVISION. § 2.
