BILL NUMBER: S3610 SPONSOR: ORTT TITLE OF BILL: An act in relation to directing the division of military and naval affairs to establish policies on the security and protection of New York national guard and air national guard recruiting centers PURPOSE:: This legislation would require the Division of Military and Naval Affairs to provide sidearms or to allow all New York National Guard and New York Air National Guard personnel to carry their own personal sidearm while onsite of a recruiting center. ORTT -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Veterans, Homeland Securi- ty and Military Affairs AN ACT in relation to directing the division of military and naval affairs to establish policies on the security and protection of New York national guard and air national guard recruiting centers THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. 1. The division of military and naval affairs shall estab- lish policies to ensure the security and protection of New York national guard and air national guard recruiting centers from terrorist attacks. 2. The division shall only establish and maintain New York air national guard or New York national guard recruiting centers and reserve officer training centers at locations where individuals are permitted to carry their own registered personal firearm while onsite of such train- ing or recruiting center. § 2.
