 Introduced  by  Sen.  LANZA  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation
 
 AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law,  in  relation  to  allowing
   vehicles  bearing  Purple Heart and disabled veteran plates to park in
   handicapped parking spaces

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 1203-b of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by
 adding a new subdivision 3 to read as follows:
   3.  PARKING SPACES FOR THE HANDICAPPED AS PROVIDED FOR IN SECTIONS ONE
 THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED THREE-A AND ONE THOUSAND  TWO  HUNDRED  THREE-C  OF
 THIS  CHAPTER  SHALL ALSO BE EXTENDED TO A MOTOR VEHICLE BEARING A DISA-
 BLED VETERAN PLATE PURSUANT TO SUBDIVISION THREE OF SECTION FOUR HUNDRED
 FOUR-A OR A PURPLE HEART PLATE PURSUANT TO SECTION FOUR  HUNDRED  FOUR-E
 OF THIS CHAPTER.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
