BILL NUMBER: S7350 SPONSOR: HARCKHAM TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to the payment for services at addiction treatment centers operated by the office of addiction services and supports PURPOSE: Relates to the payment for services at addiction treatment centers oper- ated by the office of addiction services and supports SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 amends section 25.17 of the mental hygiene law expanding the fee schedules to include services at addiction treatment centers by the office of addiction services and supports. Section 2 states the effective date.

HARCKHAM -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to the payment for services at addiction treatment centers operated by the office of addiction services and supports THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 25.17 of the mental hygiene law, as amended by section 12 of part G of chapter 56 of the laws of 2013, is amended to read as follows: § 25.17 Fees for services. Voluntary agencies and programs operated by local governmental units funded in whole or in part by the office shall establish, subject to the approval of the office, fee schedules for substance use disorder and/or compulsive gambling services, INCLUDING FOR SUCH SERVICES AT ADDICTION TREATMENT CENTERS OPERATED BY THE OFFICE OF ADDICTION SERVICES AND SUPPORTS, not specifically covered by the rates established pursuant to article twenty-eight of the public health law or title two of article five of the social services law. Such fees shall be charged for substance use disorder and/or compulsive gambling services furnished to persons who are financially able to pay the same, provided, that such services shall not be refused to any person because of his OR HER inability to pay therefor. § 2.
