BILL NUMBER: S8876 SPONSOR: WEIK TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the tax law, in relation to the homeowner tax rebate credit PURPOSE: To extend the Homeowner Tax Rebate Credit to all future tax years. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 amends paragraph 1 of subsection (n-1) of section 606 of the tax law to include tax year 2022 and thereafter. Section 2 establishes an immediate effective date. S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 8876 I N S E N A T E April 26, 2022 ___________ Introduced by Sen. WEIK -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Budget and Revenue AN ACT to amend the tax law, in relation to the homeowner tax rebate credit THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph 1 of subsection (n-1) of section 606 of the tax law, as amended by section 1 of part BB of chapter 59 of the laws of 2022, is amended to read as follows: (1) An individual taxpayer who meets the eligibility standards in paragraph two of this subsection shall be allowed a credit against the taxes imposed by this article in the amount specified in paragraph three of this subsection for tax year two thousand twenty-two AND THEREAFTER. § 2.
